To all my watchers <3

Wed Dec 23, 2009, 8:14 AM
I've just noticed I'm well over a thousand watchers now, and I'd just like to write an entry here to thank you all.

When I joined this site I was greeted by some incredibly talented, brilliant people. Many of whom I still keep in contact with, and you've all helped me grow as a person and an artist. It means a lot to me that many of you still watch my work and continue to support it, and if it brings a smile to people's faces then I've done my job.

Unfortunately I've not been that active here over the last few months but I'm hoping to get back into my passion and keep uploading things for you to look at. I'm still trying to improve and succeed as an artist, and I hope that you have seen a progression since I first came here; both in my work and in my personality.

I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas holidays so far, and I wish you all the best for the New Year. Here's to a productive and successful one! :)

Love to all.

Roll on 2010

Tue Dec 8, 2009, 6:52 AM
Thankfully our final deadline of 2009 is out of the way so I have to fill my time with other things like Modern Warfare 2.

I'll start working on my book as soon as I get the layout sorted. If anyone is interested, google 'booksmart', download the app and booyah...instant book-making material! My goal is to make a story book/concept book and a storyboard animatic for a game. My only problem is that I have so many ideas that narrowing it down into a cohesive story is a little hard, so my plan tonight is to write it out and join it all together so it makes sense.

2010 is going to rock, looking forward to the Valve soundsystem in Bristol in Febuary. :D also just want to do the best I can for this project and be proud of the result, what happened to my passion and motivation for art (reminicent of my foundation year)?? I'm starting to think too much reality has been injected into my routine. Things that seemed so exciting and within my grasp back then now seem distant and hard to reach. Oh yeahhhh it's great when a tutor wanders into Uni to explain the ratio of people working in the videogame concept industry. And females, at that. As you can probably guess, it looks like freelance is the way to go.

Oh and don't get me started on family expectations. In their eyes they expect Disney V2 by the time I graduate. Hahahahahahafuck.

I'll be far more motivated when the days don't last 2 hours, the weather isn't so depressingly shit and I get my loan. :P I feel in limbo this week, and a bit 'oh fuuuu' about the future but hey, take it as it comes.

Peace out y'all.

whee drawing :D

Mon Nov 30, 2009, 3:24 PM
I seem to be back into the swing of things now. :) Generally over winter months I get lethargic and drawing is more of a chore than a solace but thankfully I've been doing quite a bit, and I've enjoyed it! :)

I have a deadline on Friday, I've got the majority of my work out of the way (pre-production), the only 'bleh' part is putting everything together in digital format. Research, design work. The lot. It makes me mourn foundation art and design where I could hand in a physical sketch book/PRD and let that be that.

I'll get some Uni work up here when I've finalized some images. :)

I'm curious...

Sun Nov 29, 2009, 7:11 AM
Last year sometime my computer died and I had to fix it via safemode. When I got it working again a lot of my art had gone. I was wondering if any of you guys have any of it saved? No biggie if you haven't, it would just be good to see some of my older art again! :)

I have a deadline this Friday for some pre-production work (funnily all my work this year is pre-production anyway). So I'll get back to drawing all the stuff I do randomly again when that's out of the way.

And while I'm here, does anyone prefer winter or summer? I find my mood lowers drastically over winter, and I lose a lot of motivation and passion for things. I'm actually finding it difficult to focus on work sometimes, it seems the shorter, colder and rainier days put me in some sort of frustrated state where my mind is overactive but not in the productive sense. I sleep fine, eat fine and generally I feel alright but there's a sort of subconcious doubt that lingers in the background.

I need to switch off my mind.

Anyway hope everyone is good. I'll be back to my old self at some point.
